So you have an accord, what do you want to do with it? Leave it stock? But nope, at least not for Jay. This new ACHi member is stepping up real fast. I almost forgot how his accord look liked when i first met him in Waikele shopping center. I just did a recent interview with him and here how it goes:

Name: Jay Owens
Age: 21 legal haha
Hometown: Chicago, Illinois

Ron: Hey Wassap Jay! First of all thanks for letting me showcase you in ACHi's first member profile! I seen you just did some major changes with your accord. When did you start messing up with your accord brah?

Jay: Well pare I first started tuning da kine in march of 08. I have been tuning hondas since I was a kid. Growing up in a filipino house really got me into the tuner world along with the filipino lifestyle and culture. I guess thats why all my friends are asian or local hahas. After 8months of being on island I got deployed which there I planned out how i want the CG to sit.

Ron: I see that your are stepping up real fast, what were changes have you done recently to your CG? What pushes you to keep modding her?

Jay: Recently I got a jade black metallic paint job from mercedes to give the cg a real unique look when you glance at it. I also threw on some Tenzo DC-5's to tuck clean with the coillovers. Added a rear lip to evenly match the car all around and an oem rear spoiler. My motivation to keep dumping $$$ into her is that I want my cg to be so unique and different from all the other tuners you see worldwide. And plus I have plenty haters ya so that always keeps me motivated to keep her sexy.
And I love getting in my car and just thinking about the day I bought her all junk.

Ron: What are you future plans for your Accord? Engine swap? Boost perhaps?

Jay: For the future, I would have to say cf hood and fenders, race seats, and jdm h22 type s motor and maybe a lambo door kit just for kicks...and boost is definitely to come. And to keep her unique!

Ron: In the future lets just say you are done with your accord, what car are you planning on getting next?

Jay: Well, I would have to say after my next deployment to Afghanistan Im going to get a s2k. I just have always wanted one..so classy and aggressive at the same time.OMG orgasm hehe =) But dont worry Musubi isn't going anywhere.

Ron: Do you have any inspirations that you have that helped you build your accord?

Jay: My parents. As I was raised to be very independent, along the way they always told me you have to work hard and sacrifice for things you want in life and never say never which has never led me in the wrong direction.

Ron: Aside from having inspirations, what obstacles did you have to go through in order for you to keep modding your CG?

Jay: For one, they like deploy me right after i buy the cg. So all the modding got put on hold. the car needed new paint and body was all shot. So to fix everything and to have what i have now im so blessed and grateful for what I have been able to accomplish. and two, to make it back to hawaii in one piece is always a blessing.

Ron: I see that you have been very active since you join ACHi, what can you suggest to help improve our club?

Jay: We have a great group of members. But I would love to see more of them. Maybe like more outings and ordering chicken katsu!!!

Ron: Did you want to say mahalo to anybody out there that might have help you with your accord? Go ahead and give shout outs man!

Jay: Yeah I would like to thank Ron for meeting me and giving me a shot. Jimmy for the reccomendations. Hi-Tech Motorsports, Autoland, Maaco, Nu Image, members of ACHI, my dad, and last but definitely not least, GOD for blessing me with the oppurtunity to do what I love.

Ron: Thank you very much braddah Jay for having me interview you. Its such an honor for us to have you in the club! Lets build this club even bigger!

Jay: Shoots brah it was a pleasure. Its nice to be apart of something real. Shoots bradduh lets do it. ACHI FTW!!!!!!!

So here's how our interview went:

Ron: Aloha braddah Keith! And welcome to Accord Club of Hawaii's official Blog site, on behalf of the club let me tell you that we are extremely honored to have you visit us and spare some of your busy time to be with us.

Keith: I'm very honored and pleased to have been given this opportunity to have a feature on the Accord Club of Hawaii's official Blog site.

Ron: What makes you mod your accord to the extent that she always keep changing and improving? Your car is just getting sicker and sicker every time! What drives you Keith?

Keith: It's my first car and I have grown to love it. I envisioned my car to look a certain way and I've just been striving to achieve the look I've always wanted. I have now gotten pretty close . I don't mod it to be cool or to please others, I just do it for me.

Ron: You and your car have come a long way. How hard was it to stay focus?

Keith: It was pretty hard to stay focus since I'm a student at the moment and funds and time are limited. I just worked with what I had and chose wisely where and what my money and time was spent on. I also have a girlfriend, so time and money is spent with her as well .

Ron: Was there any obstacle that came your way?

Keith: Tons...Since not many people run aggressive wheels on the sedan body of the 6th gen accord I went through trials and errors to figure out what needed to be done to achieve the aggressive look I wanted. I used to have 17x9 +44 volk Evo III's that tore into my coilovers because I didn't know they would touch the struts . I'm not mad though, I learned from my mistakes and capitalized on them creating the car I have today .

Ron: How long are you planning on keep modifying your car?

Keith: I plan on doing a complete overhaul of the car after I graduate in couple years. I just grown up with it and don't see it leaving my hands anytime soon. I have big plans for it, and hopefully I can achieve them in the near future.

Ron: Lets say you were done with your Accord, what other car are you thinking of getting and planning on modifying next and why?

Keith: Funny thing. I was thining of picking up a 1998 Honda Accord Sedan DX 5 speed for a daily driver later on . I wouldn't mind a Nissan 240sx or even a Acura TSX though. Time will tell.

Ron: You have a lot of fans out there that are inspired by you and are hoping be able to do what you did to your Accord. Any tips or advice you want to tell them?

Keith: I have fans? That's pretty cool . Well the one advice I would give is don't listen to others who hate on your ride, just build it for you to enjoy and if others appreciate it then awsome, but don't waste time on the haters. Like they say "behind every successful person lies a pack of haters." Another tip is to spend your money wisely, money management will get you far in life. Never hurts to find deals .

Ron: I know you are in California, and our club is here in Hawaii. Would you be able to rock our "ACHi" sticker in the future? We would be so honored man.

Keith: Totally would . I've been a fan of your Accord and other rides in Hawaii for a while and I would be honored to be associated with the ranks of all of you.

Ron: Any people out there that you may want to give credit to? That had helped you along the way?

Keith: I would like to thank my family for putting up with my hobby of modding cars. My girlfriend for understanding my love for cars. My team "spunkyFRESH" for pushing me to stand out from the crowd and for always having my back.

Ron: Keith Mahalo very much for letting me interview you. Just let us know if you would ever come here in our islands so we can hang out with you.

So once again Mahalo Keith for letting us feature you and your sexy accord! Let us know when you have some more new goodies!
